Hirsh Sawhney's writing has appeared in The Times Literary Supplement, Financial Times, Guardian, Time Out New York, Outlook, Indian Express and Helsinki's Vihrea Lanka. He is a Contributing Editor for The Brooklyn Rail and London's Wasafiri Magazine. He has worked as a Spanish-English translator for the Independent Press Association of New York and the Pew Foundation’s Project for Excellence in Journalism. As an educator, he has taught English to asylum seekers in London and directed a Brooklyn-based adult education program serving undocumented Latino immigrants. He has been an adjunct professor at the City University of New York and New School University. Currently based in India, he is editing a collection of fiction called Delhi Noir, which will be released by Akashic Books in 2008.
